Double digits of the same number, such as 11, 22, 33, 44 and 55 are called master numbers. *When someone has a master number in their destiny or name chart, or when you pull a master card, it is a very powerful energy. It is a vibration of abundance and empowerment — the ability to inspire the world with your words, your mind and your actions.
The lessons of all the master numbers are humility and integrity; letting go of oppressing the self and others; and seeing the adventure of life and all its possibilities. The master aligns with the universe, surrenders the ego and follows a path of service.
We can all experience mastery in our lives, even for a moment in time, as we truly let go and follow our passions. An art teacher of mine once said, “you know when you are in the zone when you find yourself humming.”
The Brilliance and Challenge of the Master Number
It is not always easy to hold the vibration of the master number as it is a heightened level of intensity and responsibility. So an extreme level of excitement, adventure and enlightenment could also trigger fear and even disappointment.
“The Master quality appears in the person who has an awakened awareness, and a comprehensive view or ability to access the potential of the base number.
Those who seek to recognize and realize their life purpose, and who strive to see the higher purpose behind events are examples of heightened awareness.” — Carol Adrienne
We examine below the brilliance of each master number as well as the challenges.
11/2 The master number of leadership, intuition and invention — conceiving profound ideas that have never been thought of before that can inspire and make an impact on others. The lesson and challenge of the 11 is embracing humility and altruism and be willing to convert fantasy into action.
Minister and civil rights leader, Martin Luther King, Jr. is an example.
22/4 The master arbitrator, counselor, healer and builder uses an intuitive knowledge of relationships and structure. Their connection with others can assist in transforming and enlightening people and their environment. The challenge of 22 is to be true to your authentic self and let go of caring what others think. Counselor and motivational speaker Wayne Dyer is an example. More on 22.
33/6 The master number of dynamic creativity and service. This unique, supportive and often magical self-expression can open the eyes and hearts of others to see and feel in a different way. The challenges of thirty-three are acceptance of yourself and others; to find the willingness to go beyond your comfort zone to seek your vision.
Inventor and visionary Wilber Wright (known for co-building the first successful airplane) is an example.
44/8 Magnificence and manifestation. The master architect and alchemist whose leadership skills can transform an idea and structure into a powerful and life-altering accomplishment. The lesson of the 44 is to go beyond the hard work of the mundane and to see each moment as a creative challenge. The obstacle to push through might be perfectionism and humility. John Lennon is an example.
55/1 In mastery, fifty-five is an intriguing number. The five is all about energy and being present in the world with people. The 55 takes it to a vibration that is above the norm by actually transforming energy in some way and inspiring others in its transformation. A perfect example of this higher consciousness is Gandhi who used his discipline and work with metaphysical tools to move and inspire the whole nation of India into change.
The challenge is to find a quiet space, not having to be on all the time; and to let go of the mind and all your busy activity and go within.
