Dear Greer,
“Here I am, 7 weeks to go until baby is due! I have been literally kept up at night thinking about her baby name. I look at numerology all the time, but am torn between head and heart, and just not knowing on what baby name to give her.”—Sara
Greer: I get this question all the time. Trust in yourselves as the parents, the names will come! Yes you can start looking at baby books and baby sites on the computer. I especially like the sites that have the meanings of the names.
You can also expand your search to everywhere – street signs, store names, novels. The baby names will flow!
Once you have your names, I can help. I am not going to tell you what name you should use, but I can tell you what the vibration is and together we can look at what “baby” wants to call his or herself!
Ultimately he/she will tell you. You will know when you say the names out loud if it is a go.
Just be prepared, even when you are positive of the name, when baby comes out, you might discover that no one wants to call him/her the name you give them. Instead, everyone uses a nick name. (And sometimes the nickname is nothing like the original name). Reader, how many of you can relate?
Naming your child is a karmic connection where all are affected. You may want your child to be outgoing or lively, but then have to practice being alert, patient, and on your toes. Your job as parents is to understand and respect your child’s inner self, even if they resist being precocious. That is your lesson as well, acceptance and allowing your child to sing his/her own unique song.
Growth number of the Baby Name
One more thing to look at is the growth number of the baby’s name. You get this from adding all the numbers in the first name. This number represents how you grow in life. Learn more about the growth number here.
The Baby Name My Parents Gave Me
As an example of the gift of a name is the name my parents gave me. They knew nothing of numerology and were very practical and conservative types, not into anything I was into, lol.
But my mom liked different names and called me Greer (after an actress in the 50s called Greer Garson). It was hard to live with that name early on, but I grew to love it because it is so different.
Numerologically: Greer Denise Jonas has a vibration of 9/6/6 – kind, compassionate and intuitive.
As I am mostly called Greer Jonas – this vibration is 8/5/4 – much more grounded, out there and a leader.
My growth number (add the numbers of Greer —7+9+9+5+5+9=35/3+5=8) is an 8. All about charismatic leadership and power. This is how I grow. (gulp not always easy for me to claim my power, but when I do, I thrive:)
I have found this combination of numerological vibrations in my name very helpful as it gives me two sides of dealing with the world and encourages me to be out there even though a part of me just wants to please everyone. Perhaps my parents learned true compassion from me, just saying:)
“Thank you again for all of your help with the baby names! We would be so lost without you! ” −Lyndsey and Brad
