Do you see your birthday numbers everywhere? License plates, clocks, road signs?
Most of us do, so no need to freak out.
Continually seeing your birthday number (month and day of birth) may be a message for you to pay attention to what is going on in your life at this particular time. The sum of your birth month + date is called your catalyst or inspiration number according to numerology.
This catalyst number represents what inspires you in your life. It is what excites you and encourages you to take chances and to move ahead, in spite of obstacles.
Let’s say you were born August 11 (811).
Here is the formula: 8+1+1 = 10. 1+0=1
If 8/11 is your birthday, you have a 1 inspiration number. What inspires you on your life’s journey is to be an intuitive leader, to be independent, and to inspire others with your original ideas. What might frustrate you is if you are not making a difference in your life and/or career. Or if life is getting dull, you might want to stir it up with something new. Now if you are seeing this number a lot lately, it might be a pivotal time to look at what you can take the lead at in your surroundings. Perhaps it is time for a change.
What is Your Inspiration Number?
To find your inspiration number, follow this formula: birth month + day. The sum represents the drive that moves you ahead on your successful journey in life. Notice if you are feeling discouraged, you may be living in your shadow and not your inspiration.
1 – The ‘One‘ is the motivation of leadership, independence, and creative ideas. The work of the one is to develop confidence and let go of “I can’t” and “I am not good enough”. The 1 loves to be in control and thrives by being a pioneer, not a follower.
2 – The ‘two’ is attracted to love and connecting with relationships of all kinds, especially romantic. Here is the drive to understanding the balance of give and take in all relationships including the relationship with yourself. The key is not to lose track of your own needs in order to please others.
3 – The ‘three’ flourishes when they are creative. We are talking about creativity in every form – art, music, public speaking, and writing. The desire of the 3 is to express passionately and with an easy and inspired flow. Fear of judgment, insecurity, and reluctance to step out into the public eye can cause the 3 to retreat.
4 – The ‘four’ is the builder and creator, using the hands and the mind. Fours are practical and are inspired by working in the home, or in the garden, connecting to the earth, or in the office solving logic problems. Their goal is completion and seeing everything in its place. The need for control and perfection can hold a ‘four’ down and frustrate everyone involved in the project.
5 – ‘Fives‘ thrive on creative energy and interaction with people. Some are actors, entertainers, and salespeople. They tend to be out there in the world, always busy doing something. Their challenge is to sit still, and honor their private alone time. Other fives can get caught up with the need for approval and may tend to hide as a result.
6 – The mother/teacher/healer. The six is inspired by compassion, connecting with the heart, family, friends, and community. The lesson of the six is to love and honor self and to let go of just doing things to please others. Appreciate the perfection of imperfection in all manners.
7 – Spirituality and trust. Going inward to find the answers. Love of nature, beauty, and poetry. The lesson of the 7 is to connect with the inner world and open up to your own wisdom. It is also to learn to hear the wisdom of others. The seven’s challenge is to trust spirit and come out of hiding by sharing the authentic self.
8 – Power and abundance. ‘Eight‘ thrives when they are out in the world enjoying life and making a difference. They can be charismatic leaders who show their light without trying. The lesson of the eight is to empower self and others. If an ‘8‘ turns inward, fearful or doubtful of expressing their power, they can become angry, confused, lethargic, and/or frustrated.
9 – The catalyst of the ‘9‘ is a strong insight into the psyche and the bigger picture of life. Nines enjoy analyzing and problem-solving. Life is all about transformation and inner healing. If the ‘9‘ does not live in integrity or if their life does not feel like it has substance, they can be disenchanted. It is all about acknowledging change and being willing to leave status quo in order to grow.
11 – When someone has a catalyst number of a master 11, they are driven by an enthusiasm to inspire others, to find ideas that are unique and motivational. They do not enjoy the mundane or everyday tasks. They thrive to be leaders and innovators. If they do not live in their 11, they can get bored easily, leave the task or just feel frustrated.

Camille says
Hi! My birthday is 12/30. Can you provide me with more insight please? Your sentence -“ Notice if you are feeling discouraged, you may be living in your shadow and not your inspiration” really has me thinking. Thank you!
Greer says
Yes Camille, the shadow is the side of us that we might be keeping secret that helps us hide. Or it may be a controlling aspect that does not allow others in. Either way, it is an aspect that does not allow you to share or enjoy your life’s path. Erin says
My birthday is 9/2 and I keep seeing it everywhere. What does this signify?
Greer says
Hi Erin, let’s take a look. 9 +2 = 11. This is a master number all about inspiration and intuition. When you see this number, it may be time for a new direction, a new adventure, perhaps even a new direction. Is anything coming up lately that you are thinking about doing or beginning?
Erin says
Actually yes! I’ve been thinking about starting a new business. Thank you for your insight!
Lex says
My birthday is April 27th and I keep seeing it everywhere lately
Greer says
Hi Lex,
lets take a look at 4/27
The sum of your month and day is called your inspiration number. so adding 4+2+7 =13 which reduces to a 4.
So what inspires you in life is building and also organization. Everything being in its place.
Is there something you are imagining or already involved with that is happening our about to happen? Or perhaps you are in a place of disorder, a place that feel the need to change and do not know where to go? If you are not already involved in a new venture, perhaps it is time to look at what is next that you can build and change your life? It can be a very exciting time. Do not be afraid to take chances.
Jennifer says
Thank you so much, Greer! I am in Southeast Ohio. Oh my goodness, this is all makes so much sense. First, this has been an incredibly challenging year physically, emotionally, and spiritually. For the first time in my life, I have a personal understanding of depression and no interest in being social. I am usually a very upbeat, positive person and many people use the word determined to describe me.
I am a very different person than I was as a child. I would agree I have done a tremendous amount of work on myself, but also that I have more work to do. I have recently been moving into the aliveness and accomplishment little bits at a time. But I also have taken on a role in my spare time that gives me opportunities to work with people in a creative way. This role brings me much joy. I am so impressed with how spot on this is and am grateful for your time in sharing your insight.
Joyce says
My birth day is the 23rd and my birth month is September.
Greer says
Fantastic Jennifer, thanks for responding. Where are you located? So let us take a look at your inspiration number. 9+2+3=14. 1+4=5
Your inspiration number is not just a 5, but a 14/5. 14/5 is the karmic debt number of freedom. You came into this lifetime to understand freedom. How has it been so far? This can be a lifelong lesson, and you may have already worked on some issues in your life, especially growing up. As you work through the issues, it gets better and then it is a search for aliveness and accomplishment, past any blocks in your way. Are you feeling this?
The 5 is inspired when they are connecting with people, especially in a creative way. Are you an artist/entertainer/speaker/coach? What brings you excitement and joy? That is what will bring you success, following your passion. Many blessings to you, Greer
Joanne says
I would love more insight 3/4 = 7
Greer says
Hi Joanne, Let’s take a look. Yes March 4 would be 3+4= 7, a 7 catalyst number. 7 is the inspiration number of spirituality and connecting inwardly to find your answers. What inspires you in your life is looking into the unknown, not what is obvious. You thrive in finding the unique, different way of doing things. Always looking at the truth, and the meaning of life in yourself and others. You are most likely not at all interested in the mundane, that which has already been done. You are always the innovator. When you live in integrity, you are always fascinated. And you can trust when things feel wrong, even if a program is a different and unique approach. Or if a person you are dealing with has a unique idea. If it feels “wrong” it is because it does not fit your understanding of the heart and spirit. Trust and follow your inspired wisdom. Hope this helps. Many blessings, Greer
