What Does the Life Path 11 Mean?

Ask Greer: With a life path 11,  my soul’s urge and personality numbers are also 11!  Adding my birth name together comes to a 22.  All these master numbers! How do they affect my life? Thanks. —Saika.

Greer: Wow, Saika, your numbers are very powerful. All those master numbers can give someone a sense of real purpose in their life.

Do you feel like your destiny in a way, is to enlighten the world? Do you feel like your purpose is to help others in some way?  That describes the life path 11.  The only challenge here is that perhaps you are hard on yourself.  Perhaps you feel that what you do is never enough.  Your mission is truly to surrender and stop judging yourself. If you connect to your inner desire and also honor your need for fun and peace, you will be fine.   Remember to enlighten is also to honor self.

Before going into the meaning of the master numbers in your chart, lets clarify some of the terms in numerology.

• Life Path or Life Purpose (often called the destiny number) is the total number of your birthdate.  The life path number is your journey in life, what you are here to do. In this post, we will use the words “life path” to explain the meaning of birth numbers.
• Soul’s Urge or Soul’s Essence is the vowels of your birth name added together. This vibration (fondly called your heart’s desire) is the inner you, your true motivation. That which is closest to your heart. It is who you are, before any outside influences such as environmental, psychological or family upbringing.
• Personality number (or value system number) is the total of the consonants in your name added together.  This vibration represents how others see you and the people and energies that you attract in your life.
• Expression number (this is sometimes called the “destiny number“, but lets call it “expression number” for easier understanding in this post.)  The expression number is found by adding the consonants (personality number) and your vowels (soul’s urge) together. The numerological vibration of this sum represents the way you express yourself. The opportunities you have at your disposal, is expressed through your actions and your  voice.

Life Path 11

In a word, your destiny is about “brilliance”. With a life path 11 (which is a master number), you are here to inspire and lead others in a profound way. Two great examples are our president Barack Obama and leading lady Michelle.  Barack, born August 4, 1961 (8+4+1+9+6+1=29) (2+9=11) and Michelle, born 1/17/1964 (1+1+7+1+9+6+4 = 29) (2+9=11) both have 11 life path numbers. Soul Urge is 11

The soul urge (sum of vowels) represents your inner being. Who you are before all environmental influences. The 11 vibration would be one of inspirer and leader through their heart and soul. Oprah Winfrey, who can influence others to change their lives through her very example has an 11 soul urge. Personality Number is an 11/2

Your personality number (sum of consonants) is the energy of attraction. Who and what is pulled to you? Who and what are you attracted to? We often look at 11 as 11/2. Eleven being the inspirer and two being fairness and relationships. Martin Luther King is a perfect example of not only a personality number but also an expression number of 11. He attracted, in a word, “tolerance”. Through his actions and his moving words, he changed the world.

Expression Number is 22

The expression number (total sum of the letters of your birth name) is how you express yourself. The 22 is the master builder and connecter.  Through your expression you can work with people to help them understand themselves and build a stable life.  I do not have an example of someone with a 22 in expression, but Mother Teresa has a 22 in her soul urge. She had a way to connect others through the heart and help build their lives in a healing way. More about 22.
