Can you compare numerology, astrology, elements and tarot?
A simple chart of symbolism can be used as a first step in understanding.
(note: this is an addendum to What Number and Element are You?)
It is a huge project to connect all the systems. And of course, within each system, there are varying viewpoints. The chart below is simplified at best to allow for a beginning framework of understanding.
Keep in mind, there is a vast and intricate web of information and this chart is not to be looked at as an absolute. In the tarot, for instance, I am using only the minor arcana as an illustration. Wands, for example, represent the fire element, passion, and the energy to ignite. The number 1 (called Ace in tarot) is about the energy of new beginnings, the fire element and igniting the flame to get something done. However, there is a Ace in every minor arcana. So the ace of cups (water element and dealing with the heart) would be about emotional renewal.
And I did not even mention the major arcana, which has its own set of elements and ruling planets.
Also, for simplicity, I will work with four elements: Air, Water, Fire and Earth. (Note: to read more about the Feng Shui and Chinese five element theory, go to http://www.fengshuithatworks.co.uk/five-elements.html
Research of this chart and article was compiled from various topics on the internet, books and my 20+ years of analyzing clients charts.
